It all starts with light.

Rob Simmons has been shooting photography since he was a kid. His first camera was a Canon T70. After various Point and Shoots, Rob then became a Nikon user and has used many cameras from a D70 up to the D850. He also has an F4 and F6 NIKON film camera. These tools have slowly helped Rob to grow as a photographer to help capture the world in a beautiful way. “I like to to try and photograph things that people would walk past and never think twice about but the way I captured it, makes them look at it and be moved. To look at things differently.” “I am always on the ground shooting up or in strange positions trying to get an angle that is not normal, to look at the world differently.”

Always being interested in the creative side of business, Rob went to Baylor University where he got his BA in Film and Telecommunications and has been involved in film and photography ever since. He has been published in several trade magazines for photo shots of truck accessories and hunting magazines for his wildlife shots.

While on a safari in Zambia Rob captured an elephant attacking him and his brother and was featured on the Travel Channel’s “When Vacations Attack” as well as Nat Geo’s “World Deadliest Animals”

Rob has also worked with several musicians including: The Reverend Horton Heat, Kenny Chesney, and the rock band Everclear featuring Rob’s photos on their album “Invisible Stars”, as well as many local up and coming stars: Dave Fenley who is currently a contestant on NBC's The Voice with Team Blake and Lucas Jack who has opened for Foreigner. As well as Brent Michael Wood, Myles Smith, Davey Shrank, Poor J Brown, and many others.

Rob shoots many different mediums from video, to DSLR, 35mm film, medium format and 4x5 view cameras. Currently his camera of choice is an Ebony 4x5 View Camera with 90, 150, 300, 450 lenses. He will travel extensively throughout the Southwest to many National Parks and Monuments as well as other locales where he can capture the beauty of nature.
